I first bought these else where and like other I woke up the next morning with my clothes in a heap on the floor. Seeing their potential as well as not wanting to shell out + for 2 of the steel ones I decided to do a quick and easy modification that took less than 10 mins.
I simply drilled a small hole at the top, right through the loop, and inserted a small zip-tie.
They now hold everything I put on them with ease, 5 sets of jeans easily.

I used these storage helpers 25 years ago – the idea has been around for a long time – but these “magic hangers” are not made as nice as the ones I bought back then. I still have a number of the old ones and they are heavier and a better design. The frustrating thing with these is after hanging in the closet for about a week the connection of the top hook and the main body of the hanger separated. A slight touch would send the five garments and hanger to the closet floor. This occurred a number of times until I unhappily taped the pieces together. The idea is great but this version is on the cheap side.

The product does not stand up to it’s hype. The hangars take up at least as much space as leaving the clothes on individual hangars–just a bit farther down from the rod–and the hangar detaches from the hook on the rod at the slightest touchg leaving everything in a heap on the floor. Not strong enough – Marmaduchess –
The biggest problem with these is that they are simply not strong enough. They barely hold 5 light shirts. Don’t even bother trying to hang jackets. The top hook detaches way too easily, even after being lightly brushed. Great concept, poor design.
